DevOps Workflow Suite¶

Status: Planned — Phase 2 (P1). Closes the gap between issue tracking in Redmine and the systems where code actually ships. Built for engineering teams who chose Redmine for flexibility but still need DevOps traceability without bolting on Jira.

The problem¶

Developers live in GitLab or GitHub. Releases happen in Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI. Redmine issues drift from reality: wrong status, missing links to merge requests, no visibility into what deployed where. Managers cannot answer “what shipped last week?” without manual spreadsheets.

Capabilities¶

Phase 1 — v1.0¶

• GitHub and GitLab webhooks: push, merge request, pipeline success/failure
• Auto-link commits and MRs to issues via #12345 references and branch naming rules
• Issue panel: linked commits, MRs, pipeline runs with deep links back to VCS
• Deployment tracker: environment (staging/production), version/tag, deployed-at timestamp
• Configurable status transitions on pipeline events (e.g. move to “In QA” on staging deploy)
• Webhook signature verification and replay protection

Phase 2 — v1.x¶

• Jenkins and generic CI webhook adapter
• Release notes generator from closed issues between tags
• Lightweight change calendar: planned vs actual deployments per environment
• Incident issue template with linked deployment context

Phase 3 — future¶

• DORA-style metrics export (deployment frequency, lead time) when data is available
• Approval gates before production deploy (workflow hook, not full change management suite)

Compatibility¶

Redmine 5.1.x and 6.x. Requires outbound HTTPS from Redmine to your Git host. No RedmineShop-hosted middleware.
