AI Assistant for Redmine¶

Status: Planned — Phase 3 (P2). Productivity layer on top of a mature RedmineShop suite. Uses your OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or compatible API keys — RedmineShop does not host models or store prompts on external SaaS.

The problem¶

Long issue threads hide decisions. Writing release notes from 40 closed tickets is tedious. New team members cannot find that wiki paragraph from two years ago. Generic ChatGPT tabs leak context outside your governance boundary.

Capabilities¶

Phase 1 — v1.0¶

• Issue thread summarization (on-demand, permission-aware)
• Release notes draft from a version or date range of closed issues
• Semantic search across issues and wiki pages the user already can read
• Admin settings: provider, model, token limits, opt-in per role
• Prompt and response audit log (local Redmine DB, no third-party retention)

Phase 2 — v1.x¶

• Suggested categorization / duplicate detection for incoming tickets
• Custom prompt templates per tracker

Explicit non-goals¶

• No RedmineShop-hosted inference or per-token resale
• No automatic issue closure or status changes without human confirmation

Planned pricing¶

From $299/year add-on after core suite revenue is established. Likely bundled into Enterprise tier rather than sold standalone to reduce support surface.
